Knowledge, an Alaskan, etc.

An RIer, on his blog, recently commented about Wikipedia: "its sorta strange how much info there is about certain things on there, and comparatively little about other arguably more important topics."

Is he right, or is he not?

Just to try it, I looked up "knowledge". It's a pretty short article.

And another RIer updated her blog (at least, the Blogspot one) for the first time in months! And she crammed all her MySpace entries from three months into that! (Well, they were separate posts, but still!)

I made her transfer them over, since I abhor MySpace. :-P

Um, dear, people might wonder the the "Alaskan" fits into that post.:P tee hee. Glad you enjoyed reading my crammed blog posts.:P Were you terribly bored? I shall endeavor to copy them over from myspace for now on.:P Take care!

naaaaaah, boredom was far from my mind! Especially once I got to the names of your future pets.... And the Alaskan reference was half-meant to perplex. :-P

what's wrong with myspace?

Well, here's what I told Laura -

"1: I have a blogger account but no MySpace, 2: I do not have your MySpace address thingy, and 3: I have a slightly rational hatred of MySpace."

The third reason is partly based on the bad publicity it's been getting, partly on the horrible layouts & advertisements most of them have. (At least, the one or two I saw. I quit after that.)

*grins* i know. i hate myspace as well. i have a myspace, but i don't live my life for it. and you are completely right about the ads and layouts. trying to load the pages are annoying and the ads are awful.

ah, see? I'm not the only one, Laura! :-D

(Sam = MJ, right? What, did you change your sn?)

yeah, blogger must have changed some settings so it recognized my email account or something...i didn't even realize it said my name until now.

yeah, the only good thing about myspace is that most bands are on it. besides that its not worth the trouble, especially for a person using dialup.
RS said…
Ah, figures.

I don't go to bands' websites... and I have dialup! OH NO!! DOOM WILL DESCEND UPON THE ONE WHO HAS NO MYSPACE!!!

:-P

*watches lightening fall from the sky*

I told her she should get myspace...

oh well. I suppose I shall listen to the doomsayers next time. *dies*

(Blogger changed your name again! What is up with that?? At least it hasn't changed mine...)

the thing i love is that it claims the sn has a user profile. but...it doesn't. It only gives me a 404 screen.

Blogger must have a setting that instantly recognizes my name. and to change it takes too long...meh, its alright.
RS said…
Really? I get a page from Blogger that says the profile isn't shared or something. Weird. Apparently it doesn't bother you enough to go and change it. :-P

yeah, i don't have anything public on blogger. i try to keep track of basic information that is available about me online. i haven't practiced enough quality control, but i am very cautious about what I let be known about me. that's why i blog so randomly.
RS said…
Quite. Good thing too... there are crazy people out there. (That's why you hardly even know my name!)

Although, come to think of it, I'm sure I know where you went to college... da_baum's there now, isn't he? Obviously you let your quality control slip somewhere! :-P

Any chance you could drop me an e-mail, BTW? The "e-mail me" link from KB won't work. Mine's at the bottom of my blog here.

well, it isn't that hard if you do enough research. i'm not working that hard to keep my life secret. just vague enough.
