I caved (Jim & Pam's "The Office" wedding)

A lot of my friends watch "The Office." I've seen it, a few times, and it's OK. Not exactly the best show on earth or anything.

However, last night and this morning there were a lot of comments on Facebook about the most recent episode--the wedding between two main characters, set in Niagara Falls. (And I thought inter-office relationships were out of bounds in most offices... but this show is all about the hyperbole, and is not meant to be real!) Anyhow. I woke up kinda early this morning (about 6:15) and nobody else here in my host family was up yet, so I just went online and watched the episode. Mostly because I was bored, but also because I was kinda curious what would make a TV wedding so great.

Meh. Half the show was vulgar jokes (more than usual), and the only good part was the wedding on the Maid of the Mist. Give me that five-minute part where the gal breaks down in a nervous wreck the morning of the wedding, and the guy takes her out to marry her spontaneously, on the boat, and I couldn't care less about the rest of the show. So much for awesome TV episode....

Now for a weekend in the rain forest! How exciting is that?? And I can probably start my day now. :D (It's 7:24 my time.)

Do you mean to tell me that you are rejecting such an integral part of American culture as The Office?! *gasps and dies*

Side note: On your "whistle a happy tune" blog, I was excited that you were talking about the composer Monteverdi. Then I realized that you weren't. It was sad...

Lol. You have no idea how many people I know who are kinda fans of that show. That and... what's the other show that's so big? But it's mostly The Office.

Wow. Well, if you go over to the other blog now, you can see how much more exciting Monteverde is than Monteverdi. :D

Hm...LOST, perhaps? That's kinda big. Family Guy's pretty big too, but it's also pretty dumb, like The Office... I only watch LOST, sports (mostly football...), and the news every once in a while...

I dunno that you can really compare Monteverde and Monteverdi... :P

Yeah, come to think of it, both LOST and Family Guy are very popular (though not quite so much as The Office, to my knowledge; but then again, that one I think tops the popularity scale).

Considering I can at least identify three substantial things about Monteverde, and pretty much know nothing about Monteverdi, no, I can't really compare the two. :P
